Verification Standards
Built to the standard of India's statutory frameworks
Every specialist listed in the SOUND directory is cross-referenced against public statutory registries — not just self-reported data. These are the frameworks our verification protocol is anchored to.
Our Commitments
What we refuse to compromise on
Financial openness
Every rupee received and spent is documented. Verified donors and institutional partners can request a current financial summary at any time. Quarterly reports are published publicly.
People transparency
Our founding team and key personnel are disclosed. No anonymous governance. We are real people, named and accountable, building something we genuinely believe in.
Process documentation
Our verification protocol, scoring methodology, and operational processes are documented and available to volunteers, auditors, and partners on request.
Verification Process
How a specialist gets listed
Our 3–4 week verification timeline is not bureaucratic delay. It is the standard families are trusting when they open the SOUND directory.
Application submitted
Specialist completes a structured 5-step form. Credentials, qualifications, and practice details are collected.
Statutory cross-reference
Every submitted credential is cross-referenced against public NMC and RCI registries — not just accepted at face value.
Field observation scheduling
Where feasible, a SOUND-trained volunteer conducts a structured observation of the specialist's practice environment.
Profile published
After passing verification, the specialist's profile goes live with a Verified badge. Families can then find and contact them directly.
Boundaries
What SOUND will never do
- ✕Endorse a specific specialist clinically or guarantee outcomes
- ✕Accept referral fees, commissions, or payments from listed specialists
- ✕Publish unverified profiles — every listing passes our statutory check
- ✕Sell or share donor data with any third party
- ✕Create referral liability — families are empowered to choose, not directed
- ✕Operate anonymously — every governance decision has a named person behind it
- ✕Accept foreign contributions — we are India-funded by design
- ✕Withhold financial information from verified donors or auditors
The People Behind This
Who built this, and why.
SOUND was built by a late-diagnosed neurodivergent founder who knows exactly what it costs a family to search without a map. Read the full story.
About the Founder →India-first by design
SOUND is built for Indian families, funded by Indian supporters, and operates entirely under Indian law. We accept donations from Indian residents only — ensuring every rupee stays within the communities we serve. International supporters can contribute through volunteering, knowledge partnerships, or research collaboration.
SOUND does not currently hold FCRA registration. Contributions from foreign nationals or foreign sources cannot be processed and will be returned.
