Alongside the central schemes, Goa runs its own direct financial assistance programme for residents with disabilities — the Dayanand Social Security Scheme (DSSS). It's easy to miss precisely because it's state-specific and doesn't get the same national attention as UDID or Niramaya.

Eligibility centres on two things: Goa residency, and a certified benchmark disability of 40% or higher on your Disability Certificate or UDID. Once approved, the benefit is paid monthly, directly into an Aadhaar-linked bank account, through the Directorate of Social Welfare, Goa.

Applications are processed alongside the state's other welfare schemes rather than through a separate portal — the Directorate of Social Welfare or your local Goa Online service centre is the right starting point, and having your UDID or Disability Certificate ready before you apply avoids the most common back-and-forth.
